Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been accused of lying to Wojciech Szczesny about the Gunners signing Petr Cech.
The
Polish stopper endured one of his most disappointing seasons in an
Arsenal shirt last term and fell out of favour with Wenger after he was found smoking in the showers following the side's 2-0 defeat at Southampton in January.
Szczesny hasn't played a Premier League game since then, as Wenger restricted him to FA Cup outings from that point onwards.
However,
after the Gunners' Cup final win over Aston Villa he insisted, the Pole
insisted that he was staying at the Emirates "for good".
Polish goalkeeping legend Jan Tomaszewski claims that Szczesny was given false promises by Wenger about his future at the club.

“I remember when I was in Dublin before the Republic of Ireland
versus Poland match, everyone was asking me just one question: if
[Jakub] Blaszczykowski and Szczesny would play. That meant everyone was
afraid of him.
“For me Wojciech is still Poland’s number one,
world class goalkeeper but after Cech's transfer he has no chance to
play at Arsenal and for Poland. It could be end of his career in
national team.”
