Southampton confident of signing Toby Alderweireld

Southampton is expecting to complete a deal for Toby Alderweireld after his parent club Atletico Madrid failed to cancel his buy-out clause on time. The 26 year old central defeder had a successful season on loan at St. Mary's last season after finding playing time limited at Atletico Madrid. As a result of his performance, Tottenham became interested in the defender with rumours on sunday suggesting that Spurs have agreed a deal with the Spanish Club. 
However, the saints are confident of signing the Belgium defender for a cut price of 6.8 million pounds
