Roma coach Rudi Garcia has contacted Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Yohan Cabaye over a move to Stadio Olimpico next season
The 29-year-old only moved to last season's domestic treble-winners
in January 2014 but is considering his future after failing to hold down
a first-team place at Parc des Princes.
Cabaye is seeking an exit as he searches for more game time to boost
his chances of making the France squad for Euro 2016, with his former
Lille boss Garcia promising that at Roma.
The midfielder has been heavily linked to a move to Crystal Palace,
but Garcia has made him a target as he looks to boost
the Giallorossi midfield given the injury woes of Kevin Strootman, who
underwent knee surgery for the second time at the club in January.
Nevertheless, Cabaye's salary demands could scupper any deal, with
the Serie A runners-up unwilling to match his net wages of €5.5 million
per year.
The player's ex-coach at Newcastle, Alan Pardew, could offer an
escape from PSG in that case, with Palace able to satisfy his demands
thanks to the Premier League's new television deal.
